12B: Combat Engineer

I’m a combat engineer. I volunteered for this specific assignment because I was at a point of my career where it just wasn’t challenging enough and I think I just wanted to step it up a little bit more so I could progress in my career and set myself [apart] from my peers.

I think just knowing that I am going to be able to go out there and make a difference and actually know that I am going to be training with these armies and show them what works for them…and thinking out of the box and going to that [next] level, not just thinking U.S. Army tactics, but actually looking at the battlefields saying, hey, you know what, this is going to work for you.

We can finally come out of those countries and they can [start to] support themselves. So, I am extremely happy to be here.
