Veterinary Food Inspection Specialist

As a Veterinary Food Specialist, you’ll be in charge of food safety, quality assurance, and protection from unintentional or intentional contamination of food, not that animals will consume, but the food that you and your fellow Soldiers will eat. You’ll also be responsible for supervising food inspection and combined veterinary service activities. You’ll be at the forefront of food safety and defense, using statistical sampling methods to make sure food is being inspected for freshness, proper storage and delivery, and ensure that all food items are packaged according to the Department of Defense standards.

Requirements

  • 10 weeks of Basic Training
  • 8 weeks of Advanced Individual Training
